Last night I tried another new supplement. (You can see pictures to the right). I wanted to try this supplement with FructosAid 88 because this new enzyme supplement will also help with the digestion of monosaccharides, disaccharides, polysaccharides, oligosaccharides, fructans, carageenan, etc. I took one FructosAid 88 and one Enzyme Supplement and then proceeded to eat 6 glazed donut holes. The 6 donut holes contained about 30 grams of sugar, most of which were listed as mono and disaccharides (listed twice on the ingredient list even). Normally, I would get sick by eating anything with the smallest amount of mono and disaccharides, but to my surprise, NO SYMPTOMS. I would love to do an experiment to see how many donut holes I could eat without the supplements before feeling symptoms, but I have finals coming up during the next two weeks, so I will be waiting to try that. (: If you find any other supplements you have questions about, like if they will work or not, or you're afraid to try them, I am willing to be a guinea pig or do research about it and let you know. When I get sick, it's normally for about a week, and the first few days I'm usually bed ridden. A little about these supplements: they are simply capsules that contain the enzymes that people like me are missing. When you swallow the capsule, it opens in your small intestine and enzymes are released. These enzymes are then used to help digest the excess fructose, fructans, and any types of sugars. (It's basically Lactaid, but for Fructose). The new enzyme I got tonight is helpful because it helps break down proteins, carbs, starches, sugars, fats, dairy, grains, etc. Let me tell you one more time, these supplements are not going to cure you, but at least you might be able to eat out at restaurants or family and friends houses once in a while without being sick for days following the meal. (: Once again, thank you all for your support and PLEASE e-mail me or comment with any questions you may have! |
